WAGroups 2 is a complete rewrite, but you do not have to start over. Install the new version on a new folder or domain, then open Admin › System › Import old data.
- Enter the host, name, user and password of the old database. It is only read, never changed.
- Optionally enter the server path of the old
uploads/imagesfolder to copy the pictures. - Categories, group links, members (with their existing passwords) and blog posts are copied. Premium links become featured links and keywords become tags.
You can run the import again — rows that already exist are skipped. When everything looks right, point your domain to the new installation. Members sign in with the same email and password as before.
